veteran johnson of mountain home receives quilt of valor
Michael Johnson of Mountain Home was recently awarded a Quilt of Valor by the Mountain Home Quilts of Valor. He was honored Saturday at the American Legion post in Mountain Home. Johnson was a Vietnam-era soldier in the U.S. Army and also served in the U.S. Navy as part of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm during the Gulf War. He served from January 1975 to December 1984 and again from January 1986 to March 1996 and was stationed in Fort Carson, Germany and Korea with the Army and in Norfork, VA., with the Navy.
